Halloween 

On Tuesday, October 31, students are invited to dress in their Halloween costumes.  

If your child chooses to participate, please send them to school dressed in their costume that is comfortable for them to wear for the whole day. Inflatable costumes or costumes that include weapons, masks or face coverings or costumes of a violent or gory nature are not permitted. 

We ask that parents not send candy, food or other items, as we cannot distribute or share them with students. 

Remembrance Day 

Due to the timing of our upcoming Fall Break, we will do a minute of silence on Wednesday, November 8. Then, on November 16, we will have a short whole school assembly to honor Remembrance Day. 

Family Cultural Evening 

We are hoping to organize a cultural sharing event in the main gym on November 23 from 5:00-7:00pm, the same evening as our School Conferences. The idea would be for families to be able to share aspects of their culture and religion with members of the school community. Special Lunch (Grade 1 - 6 only)  

The next Special Lunch Day is Tuesday, November 7, 2023, the cutoff to order is Thursday, November 2, 2023. To avoid disappointment, it is important to check if you have placed an order on the Healthy Hunger website by clicking on "Upcoming Orders". Volunteers are unable to provide meals to students who are not on the order list. 

Orders can be placed for the remainder of the year or individually prior to monthly deadlines. Orders will not be accepted after the cut-off date (Thursday at 11:59pm prior to the special lunch day).  

Special lunch is not available to Kindergarten students as the orders are distributed during the lunch break.   

Popcorn Sales (Kindergarten - Grade 6)  

Popcorn must be pre-ordered and cannot be purchased on the day of the event.  All popcorn days for the year have been posted on the Healthy Hunger website; orders can be placed on the Healthy Hunger website.   

Due to extra time required by our popcorn vendor and limitations within the Healthy Hunger website, popcorn dates listed online will be the Monday prior to the Friday distribution. The deadline is the Wednesday prior to the date posted online.

Casino Fundraiser

We are still in need of volunteers for our upcoming casino dates on Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12 at Cowboy’s Casino. There are vacancies in several positions on both days. Parking and a free meal are included with all positions. No knowledge of gambling or previous experience is necessary. Volunteers can work more than one shift but must remain in the same position. Please consider signing up today as one casino shift generates the greatest financial return on your time - a low estimate would be about $135/hour worked. Other benefits include time spent with other adults - no kids allowed and getting to know other awesome members in our school community! Lost and Found 

Our lost and found is extremely full of lost items. Please remind your child to check for their lost items. The lost and found will also be on display at the front entrance during Student Learning Conferences. If you wish to come to the school to see if any of your child(ren)’s items are in the lost and found, please enter through the main entrance and check in at the office first.
