AM/PM Draw

When registering for Kindergarten, families are welcome to indicate their preference for a morning or afternoon class placement. Class placement is not based on a first come first serve basis. We do what we can to accommodate preferences but if the classes are unbalanced, it is not always possible. Selecting a preference for AM or PM does not guarantee you a spot at that time.  

In the event that we are not able to accommodate all the requests for either the morning or afternoon classes, a draw will be held. The draw will include the names of all the registered students we are not able to accommodate. For example, if we have too many requests for AM placement all the students that have requested AM will be in the draw to determine who will be placed in the PM classes.  

Rules of the Draw (Example: if AM requests are more than we can accommodate) 

Only students who have selected AM as their preference are in the draw.                                

Two pools of names will be made:  

Pool 1 - Child's Play - (Child care program located at Westgate School) this is to keep their numbers balanced for AM/PM. 

Pool 2 - All non-Child's Play children

Drawn names will move from the morning to the afternoon.

If parents from different families have requested that their children stay together and one is chosen, we automatically move the other.  If the second child's name is drawn at a later point, we will set that name aside and draw another name. This rule also applies to families with twins.
