French Opportunities for Students 

The Centre D'Appui Familial is offering French after school opportunities for students.  It starts on the 23 of January and it is virtual!: 

Educazoo en Zoom - Mat à 3e année - Hiver 2024 - Le Centre d'Appui Familial (centredappuifamilial.ca)   

They have an incredible French library. Memberships are usually 35$ for a year but are often offered for free. There are books for babies to adults in French, resources, games, costumes. This is a treasure trove not many people know about. 

School Council/Parent Society Virtual Meetings – Thursday, January 25  

We look forward to welcoming many parents and guardians to our virtual meeting next week. The meeting link was included in the email sent yesterday. In our Leadership Report we will be discussing the following items:

Kindergarten Report Cards 

Kindergarten teachers will report progress to parents/legal guardians via January and June report cards. In January, French Immersion Kindergarten programs will communicate progress in FLA and Math to parents/legal guardians via the report card. When viewing the report card online, other subject areas will be visible but will be blank. 

In June, progress in all discipline areas will be communicated to parents/legal guardians via the report card. 

Report Cards and IPPs 

Report Cards will be available through your MyCBE account on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. Please follow this link for instructions on accessing the report card online. For more information on assessment and reporting, please follow this link to the CBE website. IPPs will be sent home today, Friday, January 19 and should be reviewed, and the signature sheet signed and returned by Wednesday, January 24, 2024. 

Learning Disruption Funding 

We have received some funding from Alberta Education to address learning gaps in Literacy and Numeracy with students in Grades 1 to 3. We have increased FTE of both Lindsey Jenkins and Julie Kim to support these students.
