CBE Student Code of Conduct and CBE Progressive Student Discipline

As we begin the school year, we would like to remind families that the CBE Student Code of Conduct and Progressive Student Discipline regulations apply to all students at Westgate. These guidelines help us create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment where every student feels welcome and supported.

The Code of Conduct outlines the roles and expectations we have for students and helps them develop empathy, responsibility, and the skills needed to be positive members of both our school and broader community. When behaviours negatively impact the learning environment, the Progressive Student Discipline regulation provides a framework for responding in a fair and supportive manner.

We appreciate our families partnering with us in helping students understand these expectations and contribute to a positive school community.

Terry Fox Run – Thursday, September 24

Hello parents! Our Terry Fox Run is coming soon. Remember to send your child to school with a good pair of runners and a water bottle. Our Terry Fox Run is on Thursday, September 24 at 1:45-2:15pm. You’re welcome to come and watch or join in the run. We ask that all students enter the school with their teacher for dismissal after the run. Thank you for your support in making our Terry Fox Run a successful event.

Orange Shirt Day

Orange shirt day is held annually on September 30. It is an opportunity for all people to come together in the spirit of reconciliation. Orange Shirt Day began in 2013 when residential school survivor, Phyllis Webstad, shared how her orange shirt was taken away on her first day at a residential school.  As there are no classes on September 30, National Indigenous Peoples Day, students are encouraged to wear an orange t-shirt Tuesday, September 29.
