Dear Westgate families,

I hope you have enjoyed a restful and fun summer. We are all looking forward to welcoming students back to Westgate next week for another wonderful year.

I thought I would send out a quick email to answer some common questions and provide a few important updates.

• School starts on Thursday, August 29 at 8:00 am. 
• Kindergarten students have a staggered entry on Thursday, August 29 and Friday, August 30 as per information that was provided to Kindergarten parents in the spring. Further details on our staggered entry can be found on the Kindergarten/Grade 1 page of our website.
• Pick Up Information Required.  It is very important that you complete the Pick up Information form regarding how your child will go home at the end of each day. Teachers will be sending out a link to collect this information. Please complete the form before August 28, 2024. Providing this information before the deadline helps us enormously.
  
  For students on school buses, routes are not posted online; individual stop information will be available to families who have pre-registered in your MyCBE account. More bussing information can be found on the CBE transportation page. If you have any concerns or questions please email Transportation.

Please sign up for the School Bus Monitor and MyBusStop app to stay informed on daily route updates.

• Teachers will be contacting families by the end of the day Tuesday, August 27 to let you know about class placement and where to meet on the first day. If for some reason you do not hear from us by Tuesday, you can give the school a call on Wednesday, or come to the office on Thursday morning. Please remember that we do not take teacher requests unless you have important information about your child that we did not have when making class lists in June.
• We do not provide school supply lists. Supplies are provided by the school. All students need to bring is a backpack, indoor shoes, a snack and lunch if they will be staying at school over the noon hour.
• We will have our Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday, September 26. More information will be sent closer to that time.
