Dress Up as Your Dream Career Day - March 10
We are encouraging students to come dressed as their dream job or a career that they would like to be in the future. We love to see these creative and thoughtful costumes!
Manie Musicale
Westgate’s Manie Musicale has begun and the students are absolutely loving it! Students in all grades will continue to listen to and vote between a curated selection of 16 songs in a bracket style match-up. All entries in this tournament are en français and by francophone artists from all over the world! Two songs will battle it out every day until March 19… when one winner will be left standing. Which song will Westgate choose? Stay tuned! 🎶 Thank you Mme Erbracker for organizing this fabulous fun learning experience for our students!
Upcoming School Conferences – March 20-21
Student Learning Conferences will be held virtually this time around. You will receive a link from the conference system. Prior to your conference time, please ensure you have thoroughly read through your child(ren)’s report card(s) and be prepared with questions for the teacher. Report cards were available in PDF format on January 30 through your CBE PowerSchool account. Please do not access the link until the exact time of your conference.
Science Fair
This year's Science Fair was remarkable. Twenty-seven Grade 5 and 6 students showcased their creativity, problem-solving skills, and scientific thinking. The whole school community had an opportunity to visit and learn about a wide range of science topics. The research, efforts and enthusiasm of the participants were impressive! Five students will be representing Westgate School at the Calgary Youth Science Fair in April. We would like to congratulate all the students who participated in the Westgate Science Fair for their excellent work! An event like the Science Fair would not be possible without the help of many volunteers. We sincerely thank all of the volunteers that made this event possible.
A special thank you to Mme Sandra Jacques and Mme Katy Roe for organizing this year’s Science Fair.
French Movie excursion – and thanks to Parent Society support!
Students from all grades travelled to Market Mall theatres to view a French movie this past week. It was a wonderful experience for all students, and we would like to thank our parent volunteers and our Parent Society who paid for the movie and bus fees.
