Strike Action – No School Beginning Monday, October 6
At this time, the CBE is preparing for an Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) strike beginning on Monday, Oct. 6. Here is what this means for CBE families:
- All classes will be cancelled. Do not send your child to school.
- Transportation will be cancelled. Do not leave your child at a bus stop.
- As directed by the CBE, all on-site and off-site activities from October 6th to the 31st have been cancelled (Grade 6 Word Fest, Grade 4 Bow Habitat visit, School council meeting)
- IPPs will be sent to parents once regular operations resume

Lifetouch Photo Orders
Photo proofs were sent home this week and orders are due on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. Due to the strike and classes being cancelled, please make your orders online.
Photo retakes and class photos will take place on Monday, November 3. If your child requires retakes, please check the "retake request box" at the bottom on the order form and return it on the day of retakes. Your child will require the order form to give to the photographer on retake day.
Bottle Drive
A big thank you to Westgate Families for supporting last week’s bottle drive! Together we raised $628.20 to use towards subsidizing excursion fees for families in need of support! We always appreciate the generosity of our Westgate School Community.
