Terry Fox Run
Hello parents! Our Terry Fox Run is coming soon. Remember to send your child to school with a good pair of runners and a water bottle. Also, your child will be bringing home a form on Friday. Our Terry Fox Run is on September 24 from 1:45pm to 2:15pm. You’re welcome to come and watch or join in the run. We ask that all students enter the school with their teacher for dismissal after the run. Thank you for your support in making our Terry Fox Run a successful event.
Frisbee Rob
Frisbee Rob will be returning to Westgate School and will be providing sessions for all Grades K to 6 between September 26 and October 11th. Our teachers and students really enjoyed their time with him last year and we look forward to learning more!
Apple Fundraiser Pick-Up | Volunteers Needed
Thank you to everyone who purchased Davison apples from our school council fundraiser. The apples will arrive Tuesday, September 24. We are pleased to offer new pick-up times. You can now pick up your apples on the North East side of the school between 10:45am and 6:00pm. Apples MUST be picked up on Sept. 24th. We cannot store them.

Orange Shirt Day
As there are no classes on September 30, National Indigenous Peoples Day, we will be recognizing Orange Shirt Day at Westgate School on September 26. Orange Shirt Day began in 2013 when residential school survivor, Phyllis Webstad, shared how her orange shirt was taken away on her first day at a residential school. Westgate students are encouraged to wear an orange t-shirt on September 26, as we take the opportunity to come together in the spirit of reconciliation.
Meet the Teacher
We are really looking forward to welcoming Westgate families to the school this year for “Meet the Teacher Night” on Thursday, September 26.
For Grades 1-6, the format is the same as last year. It allows for two possible windows of time for families to attend the classroom presentation. Teachers discuss routines, curriculum, field trips and how you can support your child(ren) from home. If you have specific concerns about your child’s performance, please reach out to your teacher to arrange a separate meeting time or phone call.
We are starting early to ensure parents with students at Bishop Pinkham can arrive there for 6:30pm for their Meet the Teacher Night.
GRADE 1-6 (Please chose one session)
5:00-5:30PM | 5:45-6:15PM – Each teacher presents the same information twice. These are repeat presentations to enable parents with more than one child at Westgate to attend multiple sessions, you only need to attend one. there is no need to sign up for a specific session.
