Traffic Safety Reminders  

As we return from the break we have noticed an increase in traffic safety concerns around the school. We kindly remind parents and guardians to respect the signage on posted signs, and model safe behavior for students by using the crosswalks. Of particular concern is parents parking and stopping in front of the school to drop off their children. This can be very problematic as it can be unsafe and prevents a smooth flow of traffic, including buses, on a very busy street.  We encourage families to use the North Side Drop-In Zone (10 minute parking) for safe and convenient drop-offs.  

Students Arriving Late to School  

Since returning from the break, we’ve noticed an increase in the number of students arriving late to school. We understand that settling back into routines can be challenging for both students and families. However, arriving on time is very important—it helps ensure a smooth, calm, and successful start to the day for everyone. 

School Conferences   

We look forward to welcoming families to the school for our first session of school conferences. Conferences will be 15 minutes in duration and you are welcome to bring your child to be part of the conversation with the teacher. Please book your School Conferences through your MyCBE account.  

OurSCHOOL Student Survey (Grade 4-6 students) 

Between November 17-28, 2025, grade 4-6 students will be participating in an online school perception survey for students called the OurSCHOOL Student Survey. This anonymous survey is completely voluntary for all CBE students. 

CBE’s Education Plan prioritizes student voice and well-being in our decision-making processes.  Responses from this survey are used at the system and school level to recognize and improve what is necessary for students to feel safe, welcome, and cared for when at school.
