We are really looking forward to welcoming Westgate families to the school this year for “Meet the Teacher Night” on Thursday, September 26.

For Grades 1-6, the format is the same as last year. It allows for two possible windows of time for families to attend the classroom presentation. Teachers discuss routines, curriculum, field trips and how you can support your child(ren) from home. If you have specific concerns about your child’s performance, please reach out to your teacher to arrange a separate meeting time or phone call.  

We are starting early to ensure parents with students at Bishop Pinkham can arrive there for 6:30pm for their Meet the Teacher Night. 

GRADES 1 TO 6 (5:00pm – 6:15pm)

4:45-5:00pm – Doors open 
6:00-6:15pm – Families Depart

5:00-5:30PM | 5:45-6:15PM – Each teacher presents the same information twice. These are repeat presentations to enable parents with more than one child at Westgate to attend multiple sessions, you only need to attend one.  

There is no need to sign up for a specific session. 

During each block of time, in their classrooms, teachers will present daily routines, program of studies, proposed field trips, special activities and projects throughout the year to come as well as ways you can support your child at home.    

Due to the number of families expected, space in classrooms will be limited. The information being presented is intended for parents and guardians.   

During these sessions, there will not be time for teachers to have specific conversations about your child. At the beginning of the school year, you will have received a survey from your child’s teacher giving you the opportunity to share any important information about your child. This information will help the teacher better understand each of their students. If you feel like it’s important for you to arrange a separate conversation (either phone call or (virtual) meeting) with your child’s teacher, please contact them by email; staff contact list is available here.   

GRADE 6 – Meet the Teacher | Camp Chief Hector Information 

All Grade 6 parents are asked to attend the first session of grade team presentations from 5:00 - 5:30pm for their other children. At 5:30pm in Room 12 we will meet to do our team presentation of Grade 6 followed by the Camp Chief Hector information at 6pm. Please let your child’s teacher know if you are unable to attend this mandatory meeting. 

GRADE 4 – Royal Tyrell Museum Information 

As this is an overnight trip, a mandatory parent meeting will be necessary. This meeting is scheduled following our Meet the Teacher evening and will be held in Room 4 at 6:30pm. The meeting will answer any questions families may have and provide additional information about the trip including a checklist of what and what not to pack.   

KINDERGARTEN – Mme Janell, Mme Jessica, Mme Christina

In order to accommodate new students to Kindergarten at Westgate and their families, parents can register for a 10-minute time slot with their child’s teacher through their MyCBE account. The booking system opens Friday, September 20 at 6am and closes September 25 at 10pm. No conferences will be held on Friday, September 27.

MUSIC – Both Ms. Kim and M. Klippenstein will be available in the Music Rooms.  

ADMINISTRATION - Julie Muhlberger, Principal, and Stephanie Leech, Assistant Principal will both be available throughout the evening in the main foyer to meet and greet parents and to answer any questions you may have.
